Spearmint Essential Oil Benefits and Uses

Spearmint essential oil is a softer, more subtle mint oil that is packed with antioxidants and is traditionally used to treat respiratory imbalances and digestive issues.  This oil is also known for its antiseptic, antispasmodic, carminative, cephalic, emenagogue, insecticide, and restorative properties.

Spearmint is an excellent cooling diuretic that has the power to reduce the heat in the body due to fever and inflammatory conditions.  Its proven pharmacological effects and enormous cooling values gently cools the liver and protect from chronic health conditions like an inflamed liver.

Spearmint essential oil stimulates the secretion of juices, which helps to promote digestion.  As a result, it helps reduce indigestion, flatulence, diarrhea, constipation, nausea, and vomiting associated with digestive problems.  It also promotes blood circulation and helps to boost the immune system, which in turn may help the digestive system function better.

The antibacterial, anti-fungal, and antiviral properties of the Essential Oil of Spearmint make it a disinfectant.  It can help get rid of both internal and external infections.  Refreshing spearmint relaxes the body and mind.  It is said to release tension in the stomach, which in turn may treat indigestion, diarrhea, nausea, constipation, and flatulence.

Spearmint essential oil has a long use in dental care.  This oil is an ingredient in many toothpaste and mouthwash recipes.  Spearmint also supports clean and healthy skin.  Spearmint may help to relieve and calm your skin.  It also may strengthen skin tissue and reduce oily skin.  In addition, because it contains much lower amounts of menthol than peppermint, spearmint is also less harsh on the skin.
